they continued to tell Sun: ‘They want the divorce to be as painless as possible, and in the meantime they focus on their work.’
The Daily Mail has contacted Millie and Hugo’s representatives for comment.
The couple, who met as teenagers and first appeared during E4’s Made In Chelsea programme, had been married since June 2018.
A source told the Daily Mail: ‘Millie and Hugo are currently going through a separation and have sadly decided to separate.
‘They have known each other for many years and in recent weeks have had serious conversations about their future and eventually decided it would be better for them both to part ways.
‘Their main priority is their children and family life and separation is not something they ever expected to do.
‘They are currently considering what living apart might look like and how they plan to go about co-parenting their young children.
‘It’s been an incredibly difficult start to the year and they hope to continue to manage this privately.’
Sources close to Millie and Hugo say they are committed to co-parenting their young children, who remain their priorities, and maintaining a loving family life.

While Hugo was on a ski holiday, Millie traveled to India last month to attend a wellness retreat designed to ‘heal’ the nervous system.
The reality star, who was photographed without her wedding ring, shared several posts during her stay that signaled a new chapter in her life.
He also posted a quote that read: ‘You don’t always have to know what the next step in your journey will be.
‘Sometimes you just have to be where you are and know that it’s okay to be there. There is so much beauty in accepting yourself right here, in this moment.
‘No matter what you’re working towards, I hope you can always remember that finding peace in the moment is just as important as the road ahead.’
In another Instagram story, she shared the following quote: ‘And then the moon said to me, darling girl, it’s time to claim your damn power.’
The couple’s relationship was first followed on Made In Chelsea.
After six months of dating, their relationship hit a wall when Millie accused him of cheating on her with her best friend and co-star Rosie Fortescue, and they split in 2011.
