Spears, 43, has reportedly had a strained relationship with her two children, whom she shares with her ex-husband, for the past few years, and Federline claims that her sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden, 18, no longer wanted to visit their mother at home during their teenage years, and one of the reasons for this was fear.

“It’s become impossible to pretend everything is okay,” Federline adds. ‘From where I sit, the clock is ticking and we are approaching the 11th hour. If things don’t change something bad will happen and my biggest fear is that our sons will keep the pieces.’

Federline’s memoir also reflects on the night in 2008 when Spears was admitted to the psychiatric ward of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and placed on 5,150 psychiatric hold after she refused to give up custody of their son to Federline.

Federline called “It was one of the hardest nights of my life,” he said, as he watched his partner in the middle of this ordeal.
