Minister Denies Srisailam Temple Merger Into Markapur District

Nellore: Minister of Social Welfare Dora Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy strongly rejected reports that the temple of Srisailam will be combined in the proposed Markapur region in some media organizations.

“The Temple of Srisailam is a sacred pilgrimage center. It is not right to drag such a sacred tomb to unnecessary discussions,” he said.

The new Markapur region’s proposal includes Markapur, Yerragondapalem, Giddalur, Kanigiri and Darsi in the western region, but did not contain Srisailam.

He said that a cabinet sub -committee would make the final decision and called on the public not to worry about the restructuring of the region. “Nobody should abuse the media to spread the wrong information for personal earnings,” he added.
