Minister Nara Lokesh meets business delegations in Canada

Minister of Information Technology and Human Resources Development (IT and HRD) Nara Lokesh called Canadian Business Council (CBC) president Goldy Hyder in Toronto on Wednesday night, December 10, 2025.
He sought cooperation in mobilizing industrial investments in Andhra Pradesh, saying the state was moving at pace to implement business policy.

He urged investors to explore opportunities in the state, saying that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh has made significant progress in the last one and a half years and is poised to reach new heights in the coming years.
Later, Mr. Lokesh had a meeting with Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited CEO Prem Watsa and requested him to set up Sterling Resorts in Florida’s Nallamala forest area on the lines of Panama City.

In a meeting with Tim Downing, a member of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) Global Public Affairs Team, Mr. Lokesh suggested that the CPPIB invest in renewable energy, seaports and logistics.
Additionally, Mr. Lokesh requested Mr. Downing to consider partnering in the development of Amaravati as an institutional investor.
Mr. Lokesh met John Radko, Senior Vice President of OpenText, a world-renowned name in Enterprise Information Management and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He asked Mr. Radko to provide expertise in the development of artificial intelligence and quantum computing ecosystems.
Mr. Radko expanded the company’s operations to World War II in India. He said it plans to expand to tier-1 cities and will try to capitalize on opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
The Minister later paid a courtesy visit to India’s Consul General in Toronto Kapidhwaja Pratap Singh and President of the Canada-India Business Council Victor Thomas.
