A police detective and mother of three died a week after her butt lift and liposuction surgery, according to reports. Alicia Stone, 40, an employee of the New York Police Department (NYPD), was taken to Fundación Valle del Lili Hospital in Colombia on Thursday after she was found unresponsive in a hotel room. Ms. Stone, who worked in the NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau for 13 years, was pronounced dead an hour after being checked in for treatment, sources said.

Ms. Stone’s husband, Michael, said he would demand an investigation into the cause of her sudden death, claiming “something was wrong”. “The doctor who called me from Colombia just called and said my wife had just died,” Mr. Stone said.

A fundraiser to support the 40-year-old’s family described her as a “loving mother of three children” and a “dedicated public servant who spent her career protecting and serving others.”
“Alicia’s kindness, courage, and compassion touched everyone she met, both in and out of uniform,” he continued.
“His unexpected death left a huge void in the lives of his family, friends and fellow officers.”
A report published in the Journal of Aesthetic Surgery in 2017 suggested that butt augmentation surgery may be 10 to 20 times more dangerous than other types of cosmetic treatments performed in the United States.
It was stated that approximately one in 3,448 patients worldwide died after the procedure; This is a much more significant figure than the overall U.S. death rate from plastic surgery, which is roughly 1 in 55,000.
