Uni boss Bishop rejects allegations of ‘godlike powers’

The boss of one of the most prestigious universities in the country rejected the allegations that an academician had bullying to commit suicide, and criticized a parliamentary investigation for allowing the allegations to be heard to the public.

Julie Bishop, Australian National University Lucky Bishop, said that he brought a “categorically” university demography, accused him of infiltrating secret documents, prevented him from leaving a room and laughing when the academician was troubled.

Anu staff Liz Allen, in August in a parliamentary hearing of the allegations of emotional expressions raised the agenda.

In a 25 -page response with the investigation, Ms. Bishop, who is currently under pressure for some Anu staff to resign, says that each of the allegations can “handle and refute each of the allegations.

Ms. Bishop also made wider claims to the staff that they were “hostile and arrogant”, “divine powers, uncontrolled” and that the university council was a “culture of fear and intimidation”.

In his written evidence, the committee’s decision to hear Dr Allen’s evidence publicly suggested that “psychosocial danger … The risk of damaging the committee members and witnesses”.

“The witness was clearly distressed and spoke especially about suicide thought and low.”

“The hearing on August 12, 2025 increases serious concerns, as used to ventilate me serious allegations to me and other senior Anu officers.

He continued: “In good conscience, I cannot clearly witness the committee that can endanger the complaint process of the workplace.”

On the other hand, the Committee President Marielle Smith defended the behavior of the investigation, arguing that he had fulfilled his obligations to protect witnesses and give the university the right to respond to the university.

“The committee was not aware of the details of Dr Allen’s expression in advance,” Senator Smith said. He said.

Anu executives are facing academics and increasing pressure on the cost -cutting plan, including the forced personnel surplus.

The contentious “Renew Anu” program led to the resignation of Genevie Bell, the vice president of the university.

Temporary Chancellor Deputy Rebekah Brown canceled the planned business deductions, but there is still a need for work to lead the university to a sustainable basis.
