Two arrested after multiple people stabbed on train in Cambridgeshire | Cambridgeshire

Two men have been arrested after several people were stabbed on a train heading to the Cambridgeshire town, police said.

Cambridgeshire police said several people were taken to hospital after the incident.

Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) were at the scene in Huntingdon on Saturday.

In a post on X, police said: “We are currently responding to an incident where multiple people have been stabbed on a train to Huntingdon.

“Officers attended CambsCops and two people were arrested.”

National Rail said Huntingdon station was closed and all lines were closed.

London North Eastern Railway (LNER), which operates East Coast Main Line services in the UK, appealed to passengers not to travel due to “major disruption”.

LNER said in a statement on X at 9.21pm: “We are experiencing major disruption to the LNER route. Emergency services are dealing with an incident at Huntingdon station, all lines are blocked.”

“Our advice is ‘Do Not Travel’. Please postpone your travel as much as possible.”

Cambridgeshire Constabulary has appealed to anyone with information about the incident to report it online Quoting incident 495 of 1 November or calling 101.
