Authorities stated that search and rescue personnel carried out a comprehensive search with four cadaver dogs the next day and said, “Unfortunately, no other evidence was found.”
The 78-year-old man is believed to have been last seen on August 5 or 6 in Downieville, a few miles down the road from Goodyears Bar. The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office said in August.
