MLB news: Famed scout Scott Littlefield dead at 59

Texas Rangers player staff Special Assistant Scott Littlefield, Saturday said in a statement, died on Friday at the age of 59.
Littlefield was found dead in Houston hotel room after a visible heart attack, USA TODAY notified. MLB scout for a long time has been reported to have undergone heart surgery two years ago.
“Scott was one of the most respected scouts with an incredible impact on this organization in Major League baseball,” Rangers said, “Scott, Major League,” he said. In 2019, Rangers honored Littlefield as a scout of the red jacket of the year. Littlefield participated in the organization in November 2009 and participated in the team’s reconnaissance department intensively.
Before working with Rangers, Littlefield, Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres spent time. In 2007, Littlefield won the scout of the year with Padres.
