Molly-Mae Hague says she and Tommy Fury are ‘on the fence’ about sending Bambi, 3, to school because they don’t want her to ‘lose herself’

Molly-Mae Hague said she and Tommy Fury were “undecided” on sending their 3-year-old daughter Bambi to school because they didn’t want her to “lose herself”.
Molly-Mae, 26, said she wanted her daughter to go to a Catholic school if she was successful, but admitted she had not ruled out homeschooling her first child because she did not want her to ‘lose her spark’.
She said the thought of handing her child over to a five-day-a-week system was ‘scary’ because she and Tommy, also 26, were very protective of her and strict in a way that she was comfortable with.
He talks about his current situation. vlogMolly-Mae said: ‘We went to visit a school in Bambi. I feel like it could be quite a controversial situation. You know me, I can sneeze and people will find that controversial.
‘I won’t go into depth about this, but we felt like we were very undecided about education, what to do and where we were on that.
Molly-Mae Hague said she and Tommy Fury were ‘undecided’ about sending their 3-year-old daughter Bambi to school because they didn’t want her to ‘lose herself’.
Molly-Mae said: ‘I won’t go into depth about this but we were feeling very undecided about education, what to do and where we were on that.’
‘I was in the regular school system, I didn’t go to private school. ‘We’re so stuck on what to do.’
Molly-Mae, who is pregnant with their second child, said Tommy’s religion influenced her decisions but denied her views had anything to do with Tommy being ‘part Traveler’.
However, two years ago, Tommy had discussed the idea of Bambi not going to school because of his Traveler background.
Molly-Mae said: ‘There aren’t many left of the kind of schools we wanted Bambi to go to.
‘Catholic schools are very few and that’s indisputable because that’s Tommy’s religion. He wants her to go to a Catholic school, and frankly, I support that.
‘We’ve actually been going to church quite often for the last few months. We try to go most Sundays. ‘We’ll leave tomorrow morning.’
He continued: ‘Tommy really wants this to be part of Bambi’s upbringing. When our second baby is born, we will have them baptized. We actually haven’t done this with Bambi yet because we’re not used to it yet.
‘When the baby comes here we will have a joint baptism. But I don’t know what we will do when we go back to school.
‘We went to see a school and I think if it’s confirmed that we’re undecided about it… I don’t want to say anything about sending it away…
‘I definitely want him to go to school but I don’t know what that’s like. I don’t know in what capacity. I think five is the legal age you have to send them.’
He said: ‘Shall we wait a little while? If it looks like it’s ready, which I think it looks like, are we going to lead it?
‘I don’t want to say anything wrong because the school we went to and saw is amazing. You just know when you can’t make a mistake. “It was almost too perfect.”
Molly-Mae said she and Tommy wanted their daughter to retain her unique sense of personality.
He said: ‘Bambi has achieved so much… So I’m biased because he’s my child but he has so much personality and every parent thinks their child is beyond special…
‘But he has such a spark and such a shine that even the thought of sending him to school makes me want him to just stay Bambi.
‘And at some point as a parent you have to let go of that and let your child spread his wings and I don’t know, I just don’t want him to lose.’ he and it’s said five days a week… even like the little things we’re used to in this school, they’re very strict, which is great, and we’re strict with Bambi, but in a way that we’re comfortable with.
‘I want to hand your child over to a system five days a week, six, seven hours a day; It’s a little scary, and I think it’s because we’re so protective of Bambi. I’m very protective, but Tommy is on another level.
‘I just don’t really know where our minds are on this.
He added: ‘We went to see the school to see where our minds were and to encourage us. But I felt like it set us back a little bit because we thought, this is too much.
‘I feel like I just walked out of school myself about five minutes ago and now I’m looking for a school for my child and I don’t know what to think.
‘Everything feels so overwhelming and scary and I think we’re going to hit the brakes.
In 2023, Molly-Mae and Tommy struggled to agree on Bambi’s education in scenes from the Netflix show At Home With The Furys, revealing that Tommy discussed the option of Bambi not going to school due to his Traveler background.
‘The reason we’re looking around is because everyone is putting pressure on us, saying if you want him to go to one of these great schools you have to find a place, but it’s just too overwhelming for me.
‘Equally, I don’t want Bambi to miss out on this opportunity and if he wants to go to school, of course we will encourage that too. I just want him to be happy.
‘If we get him enrolled in a school and he absolutely loves it and is thriving, that’s great. We want this too.
‘Equally, we could send him to a school if we decided to do it but it might not work but could homeschooling be an option?
Molly-Mae previously said: ‘People will probably think it’s Tommy’s ideas and that he’s part wanderer on his father’s side.
‘Tommy went to school, so that has nothing to do with it. Tommy has his own opinions on this, and he’s the same as me. He’s just on the fence.
‘If we find something that works, that’s great. Tommy went to school. He left a little early, but he was actually at school normally.
‘I don’t know, it’s just a minefield and I hope I don’t offend anyone when I start this conversation because I know it’s very subjective.’
Molly-Mae admitted that her own negative school memories shaped her.
He said: ‘It also doesn’t help that I never really enjoyed school. People say you look back on school as the best years of your life, and I definitely don’t.
‘I guess my age group was a pretty absurd age group.
‘School is supposed to be fun and it’s supposed to be the best years of your life. It needs to be a part of your life before things get serious. That school seemed very serious to me.
‘We all have different ideas… He may have a completely different experience for me and I never want to make a decision that would hinder his future.
‘Let’s say he wants to be a vet, or he wants to be a doctor or a nurse, or he wants to do something where he needs certain grades, then we want him to get that. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.’
