Shocking moment, two people filled more than 100 £ backpack in children’s clothes. The Kent, which was spoiled for the election at Sheerness Hight Street, was targeted by the thieves on August 5, one of the owners was on holiday. Paula Desai, owner of the shop, described the action as “very clear”.
He told me Kentonline: “They literally selected the dimensions of the dresses they wanted. They were very specific about this. They did not just go in and get a handful of things. They chose exactly what they wanted.
The other partner, Rita McDonald, was in Turkey when it happened, but caught the incident live on his phone via CCTV.
Rita then called Paula, who was about to leave the women. “I stopped them when I left the shop and said, ‘Is there anything you didn’t pay?’ He said.
“One of them rejected, shook his top and kept his bag open. He was completely empty. Then I noticed that they put everything in his friend’s backpack.
“This really frustrating. They were all planned and they knew exactly what they were doing. They knew I couldn’t do anything but control.”
A city police spokesman said: “On August 6, 2025, the city police received an online crime report on an earlier theft incident.
“It is claimed that two women play a few children’s clothes from a shop in High Street at 1.40 on August 5th. It is reported that stolen items were hidden in a backpack.
“An investigation continues and civil servants, 01795 419119’u will call and the reference of the crime 46/136679/25 is addressing everyone who quotes information.”
