Moment Harry pulled a face when asked about future work with Kate and William during the ‘Fab Four’s’ first ever engagement – as body language expert claims he was communicating with his ‘fans’ in the audience

When the so-called ‘Fab Four’ came together for their debut on stage in February 2018, the royal quartet were greeted with thunderous applause.
Less than three months before Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle, the couple walked with Prince William and Princess Kate to announce their joint plans for the future of the Royal Foundation.
But according to body language expert Judi James, the interview could also be a harbinger of Harry and Meghan’s impending royal departure.
BBC reporter Tina Daheley, who chaired the first and only Royal Foundation Forum, told the royal quartet about their mental health campaign: ‘It looks like you’re planning a second episode of Heads Together.’
Mention of future collaboration between Harry and his bride and William and his wife caused the Duke of Sussex, now 41, to grimace.
Ms James claimed the grimace ‘suggests again some doubts or concerns about the collaboration’, saying it made him look ‘like the boy band member you’d expect to build a solo career’.
He added: ‘William, Kate and Meghan fall within the scope of social norms in terms of these signals of group conformity and approval, but Harry appears to be working and communicating with a different audience in this clip, namely the fans sitting in front of him.
‘Comic intent is also present, although it seems more meaningful in the retrospective context.’
During the first Royal Foundation Forum, Harry, now 41, showed mock disdain when asked about the ‘part two’ of the Heads Together mental health campaign (pictured)
Analyzing the moment Harry used the ‘exaggerated expression’, Ms James said the prince ‘made a thoughtful gesture of denial’ as his ‘mouth turned, he pulled his face hard to one side in a grimace and his eyebrows flashed’.
‘He seems to want to interrupt any polite royal comments to suggest he might have second thoughts about the concept,’ he said.
‘The “shrug” aspect of the gesture suggests reluctance and appears to be a micro-reference to the band’s allegations of backstage battles.’
When Ms Daheley asked whether William, Kate and Meghan expected their Heads Together mental health campaign to be such a huge success, William humorously replied “no”.
But while Meghan and Kate, who was pregnant at the time, laughed in response, Harry ‘stands forward with an unsmiling expression’.
The Prince then appears to ‘cover’ William’s joke by humorously adding that the initial idea for the campaign was ‘organised behind a pack of fags’.
Noting that this also appeared to be a ‘show-off’ moment for the prince, Ms James added: ‘He even made an exaggerated gesture, extending his hands towards the audience and shouting ‘That was it!’ he added.’
Although Meghan, now 44, is not yet a member of the Royal Family, it was also announced in the 22-minute interview that she will become the fourth trustee of the Royal Foundation.
Less than three months before Prince Harry marries Meghan Markle, the couple walked alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton to announce their joint plans for the future of the Royal Foundation.
Prince Harry’s “destructive” behavior during his first and only Royal Foundation Forum left him looking “like the boy band member you’d expect to have a solo career”, according to Judi James
‘I am personally incredibly proud and excited that my future wife, who is equally passionate about seeing positive change in the world, will soon join us in this work,’ Harry proudly said.
William also added how ‘delighted’ he is that Meghan will soon join the royal trio with her philanthropic work; Kate burst into applause; this seems to be a sign of his unequivocal support for his soon-to-be sister-in-law.
But it wasn’t Meghan’s charitable efforts that made headlines in the wake of the incident, but rather the future Duchess’ bold statements about women speaking out against sexual harassment.
She said: ‘With so many campaigns like #MeToo and #TimesUp right now, there’s never been a better time to continue shining a light on women feeling empowered and the people who support them.’
According to royal writer Robert Lacey, ‘everyone’ sitting in the audience ‘nodded in agreement’ at the Suits star’s significant comments that were bound to attract public attention.
In his book Battle Of Brothers, Mr Lacey added: ‘No one seemed to realize how revolutionary this suggestion was made by the new member.’
Royal writer Tina Brown also noted that William and Kate “stood expressionlessly next to him” while “Harry looked on in awe.”
After Meghan promised to ‘hit the ground running’ regarding her charity work, Harry was heard quietly mentioning ‘the wedding’, prompting laughter and the actress joking: ‘We can multi-task.’
The historic interview could also foreshadow Harry and Meghan’s impending royal departure, according to Ms. James.
Although Meghan, now 44, is not yet a member of the Royal Family, it was also announced in the 22-minute interview that she will become the fourth trustee of the Royal Foundation.
The campaign held particular poignancy for the Princess of Wales, who “for years” has been “providing emotional support to her younger brother James, who is struggling with clinical depression”, according to royal author Tina Brown.
Meanwhile, at a later stage in the interview, William praised Kate as ‘the person who came up with the idea and concept’ for the mental health campaign, adding: ‘Harry and I had never considered doing a campaign like this before.’
The campaign held particular poignancy for the Princess of Wales, who “for many years” had “provided emotional support to her younger brother James, who was struggling with clinical depression”, Ms Brown said.
The royal writer added that Kate was ‘pioneering’ the landmark campaign, which involved ‘careful consultations with mental health professionals, policy experts and Palace advisers’.
Meanwhile, Harry has since also fondly reviewed the Royal Foundation forum, stating in his tell-all memoir Spare that the ‘pretty good sized audience’ was ‘enthusiastic’ and the two couples ‘had fun’.
“The whole atmosphere was extremely positive,” the prince added.
The royal quartet were also quizzed by the presenter about whether there were ‘disagreements on some matters’; William immediately tried to laugh it off, replying with a long ‘Ohhhh yes’.
Harry then jumped in to clarify that there were ‘healthy disagreements’ and even joked that they ‘come thick and fast’.
William then tried to forcefully continue the banter and humorously said: ‘Resolved? We don’t know!’
To steer things back to the serious message, Harry said: ‘I think it’s really good that we have four different personalities and we all have the same passion for making a difference.’
She later added: ‘But we’re committed to each other for the rest of our lives,’ before Meghan joked that ‘togetherness is the best’ at the end.
After all, while the Royal Foundation Forum was hoped to be the start of a fabulous royal quartet, this was the first and only time the Magnificent Four would appear on stage together.
Just 16 months later it was announced that Harry and Meghan would leave the Royal Foundation and set up their own charity.
“These changes are designed to best complement Their Royal Highnesses’ work and responsibilities as they prepare for their future roles and better align their charitable activities with their new household,” an official statement said.
‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are incredibly proud of what they have achieved together through the Royal Foundation.’
It was seen as the latest step in a split of public duties between the couples, who previously left William and Kate’s home at Kensington Palace and hired their own staff.
Following the forum in February 2018, the ‘Fab Four’ would only appear together in the context of larger group royal engagements such as Uniting the Colour.
