Moment huge crowds swarm Winter Wonderland’s beer hall after ‘hours of queuing’ as revellers hit out at prices

A large crowd was filmed filling the beer hall at Winter Wonderland; Revelers pushed each other against railings after ‘queuing for hours’.

Footage showed dozens of punters running towards the venue while under security guard outside the Bavarian Hall in London’s Hyde Park on Saturday.

Customers wore thick coats and scarves as they filed into the building; which was sold as a ‘convivial gathering spot for friends, families and festivalgoers’.

At one point, a staff member has to physically push back the railings as they nearly topple over.

Other organizers can be seen running around frantically trying to stop the chaos.

Queuing to enter the venue, Lewis, 26, said security ‘stopped letting people in’ unless they were willing to pay more than £1,500 for a table or buy a wristband, which ‘sold out quickly’.

He told The Daily Mail: ‘Everyone went to the Bavarian Village (main tent) instead; this was better.

‘No one was bothering there but there were a few kids coming in.’

Lewis added that he did not believe the prices in the village were “ripe” because it was in London and he was there to “have a good time”.

Under the footage uploaded to TikTok and titled “POV: Tired of waiting to get into the Bavarian Hall at Winter Wonderland on the 20th,” many people expressed confusion at the unruly behavior.

One person said: ‘This is how people are oppressed. Security is playing a joke there.’

Another added: ‘Anyone could be carrying anything; shocking.’

But a third said: ‘This is such a shame because security was really good when I visited Winter Wonderland.

‘They formed a snake-like queue and searched the bags that needed to be searched. It was a really great atmosphere and everyone was in great spirits.

‘I hope no one was hurt or hurt.’

Winter Wonderland has been contacted for comment regarding the incident.

Separate footage uploaded to TikTok this weekend shows the moment a violent fight broke out in the area.

Two men punched each other in the event’s packed Bavarian Village.

It looked like someone had stumbled to the ground in the middle of a flurry of punches from a group of people. The camera then moved to another area where a group of teenagers were involved in another fight.

Stunned spectators watched as punches rained down. One appeared to deliver a series of kicks while staring at the ground, before a team of security guards finally intervened to stop the carnage.

Amid the rows, Winter Wonderland has been criticized for being overcrowded and overpriced, and last week was named the most complained-about festival venue in Europe.

Proponents of the annual meeting will point out that it injects around £100 million into London’s economy, while also raising vital funds for the city’s Royal Parks.

But for critics, it became a real-life Nightmare Before Christmas, and some demanded that it be stopped.

More images emerged last week; This time, a woman is seen being punched to the ground during a mass brawl.

Ryan, who attended the Winter Wonderland with his friends, shot this sad video.

He claimed the fight started when one man accused the other of “touching his lady”.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘We were in the beer hall in the Bavarian beer garden and it closed at 10pm and everyone was asked to leave as normal.

‘When we came out they had created a gated walkway lined with construction fencing which created a huge bottleneck.

‘It wasn’t that busy but then all of a sudden there’s about a few thousand people in this area and it’s completely stopped. Security then locked themselves outside the door and that’s when a fight broke out.

‘Everyone was so drunk, it was obvious something was going to happen.’

He continued: ‘It was a really lawless and chaotic situation and there were families with children.

‘I go every year and I’ve never seen anything like it.’

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland said the incident was ‘immediately managed by security on site with police present’.

“There was no impact to the overall incident and no serious injuries were reported,” a spokesman added.
