Moment machete-wielding ‘thief’ is rammed by car in car park in broad daylight

The video captured the moment a driver took the law into his own hands and crashed his Land Rover into an alleged machete-wielding ‘thief’ in broad daylight.

Dramatic footage shows the driver stopping a suspected criminal in his tracks as he tried to escape on a stolen motorbike.

The bizarre encounter, which took place at Tulse Hill Sainsbury’s in Brixton on Saturday, was witnessed by passersby, including a teenage girl with her parents.

Onlookers can be heard gasping as the rider climbs onto the hood of the motorcycle, causing the helmet-wearing rider to jump out.

Horrifyingly, a long machete is revealed as the suspected thief runs towards the car park to grab his backpack.

He then speeds away from the area before the driver of the vehicle is given another chance to hit him.

In the footage taken after the incident, it is seen that the black motorcycle is lying sideways in the parking lot and its front lamp is still on.

Screams can be heard before the Land Rover driver briefly exits the vehicle, runs back into the vehicle and restarts the engine.
