Monorail train tilts in Mumbai during test run; no passengers inside

Officials stated that the monorail train tilted sideways during the test run at the Wadala depot in Mumbai on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2025, and that there were no passengers inside the train.

They stated that there were no injuries in the incident.

In the photos and videos shared on social media, the train can be seen tilting slightly.

The accident was reported at 9 a.m. A fire official said two crew members were safely rescued from the monorail.

Maha Mumbai Metro Rail Operations Limited has not shared any official statement regarding the incident so far.

According to preliminary information, the train was undergoing signaling trials when the incident occurred and some damage occurred.

Authorities added that monorail personnel were on site.

Officials had earlier said that due to repeated technical issues, monorail passenger services in Mumbai were suspended from September 20 until further notice for system upgrade works.

The Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) had set up a committee to conduct a detailed inquiry into the technical glitches that have affected monorail services multiple times in the recent past, including the glitches that left hundreds of passengers stranded at different points in two monorail trains on September 15 and August 19.
