More stranded passengers arrive from Dubai

Stranded passengers from Dubai continued to arrive in Bengaluru in droves for the third consecutive day.

On Thursday, an Emirates flight carrying around 358 passengers arrived at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). The plane took off from Dubai Airport at 13.44 and landed at KIA at 18.45. Another flight, EK-567, departed for Dubai at 20.06 with approximately 203 passengers.

Akasa Air had also announced that it would operate select flights from Jeddah to Bengaluru. The airline had announced on March 4 that flights QP 550 and QP 551 would operate flights between Bengaluru – Jeddah and Jeddah – Bengaluru.

“The operation of the above-mentioned flights is based on our current safety assessment and is subject to change depending on current conditions,” the airline said.

However, the airline did not provide detailed information about whether these flights were operated according to schedule.

There were cancellations on flights to and from the West Asia region on Thursday. “On Thursday, 14 arrivals and 16 departures were canceled due to airspace restrictions,” BIAL said.
