The Pakistan government officially nominated US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Pakistan recently attributed Trump’s “decisive diplomatic intervention and very important leadership to a few days of an armed conflict between India and Pakistan, which resulted in a ceasefire after a few -day intense border bombing.

After a terrorist strike in expensive, jammu and Kashmir, the war began. On May 7, India fired at the terror camps in Pakistan occupied regions and retaliated with “Sindoor Operation”. This resulted in a four -day intense fire, which ended on May 10, when the military commanders of both countries decided to call hostility. India claimed that the strong military action forced Pakistan to ask for hostility to stop.

The nomination was explained by the Pakistan government with the following words on X: “The Pakistan government recommends to President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.

This is a rare visit after the President Trump received the Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir at the White House on Wednesday, after the military crisis. Geo News reported that Munir had lunch with Trump, but the details of his debate were not public.

Munir, who was recently appointed as “field Marshal” – in 1959, he has already called Trump’s Nobel nomination since Ayub Khan. He associated the US President with saving two South Asian countries from a possible nuclear stance. The White House Press Secretary Anna Kelly confirmed before the meeting, “Trump will take Munir after asking the President to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for a nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan.”

As reported by Dawn, Pakistani officials emphasize Munir’s White House invitation as “a serious diplomatic success” and emphasizes the importance perceived in its foreign policies.
