Morrisons issues urgent product recall over ‘allergy health risk’ | UK | News

Morrisons customers have been issued a “do not eat” warning for one of its mislabelled products. Anyone who purchased Savers Salad Cream must return it for a full refund due to undeclared egg and mustard allergens. The supermarket has announced that some salad cream bottles have been given the Savers Tomato Ketchup 450g back label due to an issue with the supplier.
This puts people with egg and mustard allergies at risk because they may not be aware of these ingredients. Morrisons explained: “The supplier incorrectly labeled a quantity of stock with the back labels of Savers Tomato Ketchup 450g. This means that the allergens egg and mustard contained in the salad cream are not declared and therefore the product poses a possible allergy health risk.”
The affected product is a 420 gram bottle of Savers Salad Cream with batch code L25 122 and an expiration date of August 2026.
Morrisons has confirmed that shoppers can return the salad cream without a receipt and still receive a full refund.
It said: “If you purchased this item, please do not eat it and return it to us for a full refund. We do not need an invoice.”
A Food Standards Agency (FSA) spokesman said: “Morrisons is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations.
“If you purchased the above item, do not eat it. Instead, return it to any Morrisons store for a full refund. No receipt required.”
Morrisons added that anyone requiring further information should contact the Online Service Department on 0345 322 0000.
A spokesman for the supermarket said: “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we reassure our customers that our continued commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety. No other products are affected by this issue.”
