Congress, BJP, BRS Activate Booth Teams For SIR

Adilabad: Major political parties, including Congress, BJP and BRS, have mobilized cadres to protect their support base by focusing on special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The BJP is focusing on identifying and removing “fake voters” and “illegal immigrant voters” from the voter rolls by comparing the 2002 and 2025 voter lists. Party units are activating ‘Shakti Kendras’ for the exercise while conducting training programs for booth level agents (BLA-2) at mandal, Assembly constituency and district levels. A senior BJP leader in Nirmal said leaders were advised not to announce these training programmes.
Congress appointed inspectors for clusters of 10 polling booths to oversee BLA activities and directed booth inspectors, peg presidents and BLA-2 workers to ensure retention of eligible voters. Party leaders have asked cadres to coordinate with booth level officers (BLOs) for mapping and verification of voters by comparing 2002 and 2025 records.
The party has also launched educational programs at the Assembly constituency level. Jupally Krishna Rao is scheduled to attend sessions for BLA-2 workers in Adilabad and Bhainsa on June 27 and 28.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has instructed BLA-2 workers to submit daily updates on census forms completed and submitted to BLOs. An eight-member committee has been constituted to monitor the progress and daily reports will be submitted to Gandhi Bhavan. Leaders were also asked to focus on neighborhood-wise mapping of unmapped voters in urban areas.
Meanwhile, KT Rama Rao is participating in training programs across the state to guide party BLA-2 workers on the SIR process, retention of party voters and registration of eligible new voters by October 1, 2026. He recently attended a session at Neredigonda in Adilabad district.
