The plant could restart electricity production in mid-2027 if the war ends in the near future, the plant’s president, Ramil Galiyev, said on Monday.
Galiyev said that “serious problems” at the facility must first be addressed, including the renewal of the cooling pool and the preparation of railway lines.
Both Russia and Ukraine regularly accuse each other of bombing the facility at the risk of nuclear disaster.

“We want this meeting to happen, and I believe we will do everything possible to make it finally happen in Ukraine,” Zelensky told reporters a day after the Florida talks with Trump, adding that the meeting would be at an “advisory level.”
