‘Most engrossing drama of 2026’ arrives on ITV – ‘can’t stop watching’ | UK | News
A new series hailed as a “real nail-biter” is streaming free in the UK. Gone premiered on ITV1 and ITVX on March 8 and tells the story of Michael (David Morrissey), the callous headmaster of a prestigious private school, who reports his wife Alana (Emma Appleton) missing.
But Detective Annie Cassidy (Eve Myles) soon begins to suspect that Michael is hiding something. Guard critic Sarah Dempster praised the series, writing: “If there’s a tauter, tougher or more gripping drama this year, I’ll eat my mortar board with chips.” Fans took action IMDb Praising the series, one fan said that it might not impress you right away, but it’s worth persevering.
