MRO, RDO Offices to Get Facelift

Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday announced that the state government will modernize Mandal Revenue Offices (MROs) and revenue divisional offices (RDOs) across Telangana with improved infrastructure to enhance service delivery.
In a review meeting with senior revenue department officials at the secretariat, the minister said permanent buildings will be constructed for collector (MRO) and RDO offices to strengthen the administrative infrastructure.
In the first phase, 60 MRO offices and five RDO offices operating from leased buildings will be shifted to newly constructed government buildings with modern amenities. In the second phase, around 170 RDO and MRO offices operating in dilapidated or unsuitable buildings will be modernized or reconstructed.
He said the new buildings will follow a uniform design across the state to ensure accessibility and convenience. The final designs will be prepared after consultations with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Officials have been instructed to compile details of offices operating in rented premises and lacking adequate infrastructure.
Srinivas Reddy said this move is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision that public offices should operate from permanent premises. He stated that even after the formation of Telangana, many revenue departments were operating without adequate facilities.
The minister also said that the government has initiated the construction of integrated buildings for the Stamp and Registration Department. As part of the plan, 39 sub-registrar offices within the Outer Ring Road limits in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy districts are being reorganized into 12 clusters with integrated complexes.
Foundation stones of new buildings were laid in Gachibowli, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Patancheru. The construction at Gachibowli is in the final stages and is expected to be completed in the coming months.
