M&S announces huge new £300m plan – includes 16 new shops | UK | News

Marks & Spencer (M&S) will open 16 new stores in the UK this year as part of a wider investment plan of £ 300 million. They will include 12 food stalls, two full line stores and two outlets.
Plans also Renewing 12 sites and expanding nine stores existing. At the end of 2028, M&S hopes to have 180 full lines and 420 food stores throughout the country.. A total of 300 new places are currently considered for new stores in the UK.
M&S completed 47 property agreements last year. This number is more than three years of previous three years as it works to accelerate the retailer store rotation.
Previously, new stores will be opened in Bath Southgate and Bristol Cabot Circus. Bell Green Sydenham, AbingDon, Cannock and Farnham will also have new dining halls.
Formby, Warrington, Blackburn and Volton, including six more stores are preparing for the north -west of England. M&S Real Estate Director Will Smith said that the plans, which have been reported to create more than 300 new jobs in the region, are an important step in the transformation driving of the company.
M & S’s Gemini Retail Park in Warrington was opened at the end of April. The park has a brand new clothing store, a beauty department and a renewed market -style dining room.
Stuart Machin, M&S CEO, said, “This year we increase the speed of our program and invest over £ 300 million to return and renew the stores around the country.
He said: “We have a meticulous strategy to make sure we have the right stores, and this year we will offer 37 new and renovated stores to our 32 million customers with the best of food, fashion and house and beauty.”
It comes weeks after the great supermarket was shot by a big cyber attack.
