Mumbai’s Powai Lake overflows after heavy rains

A civilian official, Natural Powai Lake in Mumbai, over Wednesday, June 18, 2025, overflowed for the last two days after heavy rains in the capture areas.
The water is not drinkable and is used only for industrial purposes.

Seven reservoirs, ie Bhatsa, upper Vaitarna, Middle Vaitarna, Tansa, Modak Sagar, Vihar and Tulsi, Megapolis supply 385 crore liter drinkable water.
