PM Modi congratulates Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal on their engagement; wedding on THIS date

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt wishes to Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal after the couple announced their engagement. Her message increased the celebratory buzz and created excitement in the cricket and music communities as fans eagerly awaited the newly announced wedding date.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to Indian cricketer and reigning World Cup champion Smriti Mandhana on her engagement to music composer Palash Muchhal and described the occasion as a delightful union of two talented individuals. In a heartfelt message, the Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to both families and expressed his hope that the couple will continue to motivate those around them on their journey together.

In his note, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the themes of love, trust and unity and expressed his wish for the couple to live a happy life together. Also, in his letter, PM Modi congratulated Smriti and Palash on their upcoming wedding to be held on November 23; This is a detail the couple has yet to officially announce.

In his letter, Prime Minister Modi said, “It is very pleasant to learn about the wedding of Sou. Smriti and Chi. Palaash to be held on 23 November 2025. Heartiest congratulations and greetings to the Mandhana and Muchhal families on this auspicious and joyful occasion.” he wrote.

The letter also reads, “May the couple walk hand in hand through all seasons of life, find strength in each other’s presence, and may their hearts, minds and souls be in harmony. May their dreams intertwine and grow together, guiding them towards a future filled with joy and deep understanding.”

Mandhana had a phenomenal phase on the field. The elegant left-handed batsman was instrumental in India’s maiden ICC Women’s ODI World Cup victory. He led India’s batting statistics during the tournament, amassing a record-breaking 434 runs in nine innings, thus becoming India’s highest run-scorer in a single edition of the World Cup. During his journey he also scored a notable century against New Zealand and formed several important partnerships at the top of the innings.

Unlike traditional announcements, Smriti chose to share the news on Instagram by posting an energetic dance video along with her teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil and Radha Yadav, playfully informing her fans about the exciting news.


The video featured the popular Bollywood song “Samjho Ho Hi Gaya” and culminated in a delightful moment where Mandhana charmingly showed off her engagement ring.
