Car Sales Surge in Navratri, Sep Growth at 6%

Pune: Automobile dealers’ associations or Fada Federation on Tuesday, said the nine -day navratri festival passenger vehicles retail sales last year in the same festival period of 1.61 lakh units to 2.17 lakh unit, he said.

“September 2025 was an extremely unique month for India’s automobile retail industry. The first three weeks became quiet to a great extent and the customers withdrew with the expectation of GST 2.0 reforms.
“However, navratri festivals have changed significantly in the last week, as Navratri festivals coincided with the application of lower GST rates, revitalizing customer feelings and delivery accelerated in most vehicle categories.” He said.
This led to a general growth and positive momentum in all segments, except for three -wheeled devices and construction equipment.

The Fada said that the decrease in GST ratios has led to renewed investigations and reservations, despite restricting all the potential of limited billing days when combined with festive demand.
He added that the momentum, built on the closing days of September, would marked a promising end to the 42 -day festival period and will proceed to Deepawali.
Last month, two -wheel retail sales were 12,87,735 units. In September 2024, there was an increase of 7 percent against 12.08,996 units. Sales during Navratri period increased by 8,35,364 units with an increase of 36 percent compared to 6,14,460 units in the same period last year.
Fada was strengthened with the demand for health improvements to meet two -wheeled retail sales, festive proposals and finally the demand to turn into retail joy.
Last month, three -wheel retail sales was 98,866, a 7 percent decrease in September last year compared to 1.06,534 units. During the Navratri period, 46,204 retails saw a 25 percent leap against 37,097 units compared to the previous year.
Commercial vehicle sales last month with 70.254 units in the same month increased by 3 percent last month with an increase of 72,124 units. The segment sales during the Navratri period saw a 15 % leap annually.
Tractor retail sales rose to 64,785 per year in September. Navratri period witnessed a 19 percent leap in 21,604 retail sales with 18.203 units of the previous year.
Last month, general sales between the segments increased by 5 percent against 17.36,760 units in September 2024 and 18,27,337 units.
