Naidu Warns Telugu Desam Leaders Against Sharing Stage With YSRC
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister and Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu issued a stern warning to party leaders not to share their public platforms with YSR Congress leaders.
This comes in the wake of the political row triggered when TD leader and government whip Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and YSRCP leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu attended a condolence meeting together in Guntur.
The warning came after photos and videos of the two having a friendly conversation at a condolence meeting for senior Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham in Guntur went viral on social media.
Naidu instructed state TD chief Palla Srinivasa Rao and water minister Nimmala Ramanaidu to seek clarification from Uma.
Speaking at a teleconference with party leaders on Sunday, Naidu made it clear that TD functionaries should avoid sharing stages with YSRC leaders, stating that “such incidents send the wrong message to the party cadre and the public”. Referring to the opposition party, he claimed that YSRC was “like a poisonous tree” and urged every TD leader to be vigilant.
The Prime Minister accused the YSRC of pursuing a political agenda focused on creating divisions among people in the name of caste and religion. He alleged that the opposition was trying to incite social unrest and warned TDP leaders not to fall into the “trap” of YSRC.
During the teleconference, Naidu also reviewed the current political situation and outlined the party’s future strategy. He said party leaders should focus on development and welfare programs rather than getting distracted by political debates.
He said resolving people’s grievances should remain the primary goal of the party.
The Prime Minister instructed TD leaders to stay away from any activity that would disrupt law and order and asked them to strengthen their ties with the people at the grassroots level.
The CM’s instruction is seen as an attempt to prevent such incidents in future and strengthen the political discipline of the party.
