National Indigenous Music awards 2025: Emily Wurramara wins artist of the year | Australian music

Emily Wurramara won the 21st National Native Music Awards (NIMAS) in Garramilla/Darwin on Saturday night. Warnindhillagwa woman born in Darwin, Rap Collective 3%, Surf Rockers King Stingray, Duo Birdz and Fred Leone and singers Jessica Mauboy, Emma Donovan and Radikal son.
Wurramara also received a film clip of the year for Lordy Lordy, directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and involving members of the Red Flag dancers of the Northern Region and members of the Wurramara family.
Malyangapa Betindji rapper Barkkaa, who won the artist of the year in Nimas 2024, threw the second EP Wurramara, 3%, King Stingray and the Funk outfit Andrew Gurruwi Band.
Andrew Gurruwi Band from Yirrkala, Northeast Arnhem Land, won the best new talent and song of the year for the reggae -affected protest songs, and competed for colonization, border wars and roads land rights.
During the second year in a row, the community clip of the year, which recognizes young talents, was given to the Bulman school and community in NT, because they rap about the story of local children in English and Dalabon, and the story of the Korlomomo (Crocodile) and Berrerdberred (Rainbow Arı Eater) and how people came into fire.

Last week, after his departure from Warner Music Australia, he launched the new single with PJ Harding, the first version of his independent edition.
