Nalgonda Crossroads-Owaisi Junction Corridor to Open by April

Hyderabad: The Nalgonda Junction comprehensive development corridor leading to Owaisi Junction will be operational by April, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner RV Karnan said on Tuesday, while reviewing the progress of work on the conflict-free traffic corridor in south Hyderabad.
During the field-level inspection of the line extending from Saidabad and IS Sadan to Owaisi Junction, officials informed the Commissioner that nearly 80 per cent of the work on the project, including the 2,530-metre-long main flyover, which is being carried out under engineering, procurement and construction turnkey mode at an estimated cost of ₹ 620 crore, has been completed.
Karnan instructed engineers and contractors to expedite the remaining work and ensure that the corridor is opened to traffic by April. He also instructed the authorities to obtain necessary traffic diversion permissions for the critical Saidabad-Dhobighat Junction to avoid disruptions in the final phase of construction.
Emphasizing the need for uninterrupted connectivity after the corridor becomes operational, the Commissioner asked the authorities to complete the land acquisition for service roads as soon as possible to ensure smooth traffic flow in the region.
Charminar district commissioner Srinivas Reddy, executive engineer B. Gopal and other senior GHMC officials were present during the inspection.
