Nancy Guthrie kidnap investigators work with Walmart

Investigators working on the disappearance of Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother are consulting with Walmart management to find clues because the backpack the suspect was wearing was sold only in stores.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her home in Arizona on January 31 and was reported missing the next day.
Authorities say his blood was found on the front porch.
Supposedly ransom notes were sent to news outlets, but two deadlines for payment have passed.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation released surveillance video of a masked man wearing a gun holster outside Guthrie’s front door in Tucson the night he disappeared.
The porch camera captured video of a person with a backpack wearing a ski mask, long pants, jacket and gloves.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told The Associated Press on Monday that the 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack was the only item of clothing “positively identified.”
“This backpack is exclusive to Walmart and we are working with Walmart management to develop more leads,” Nanos said.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement Monday that the suspect’s clothing “may have been purchased at Walmart but was not exclusively available at Walmart.”
“It just remains a possibility.”
Investigators announced Sunday that a glove found near Guthrie’s home had been sent for DNA testing.
The FBI said it received preliminary results on Saturday and is awaiting official confirmation.
The development comes as law enforcement collects more potential evidence and the search for Guthrie’s mother enters its third week.
Authorities had previously stated that they were unable to identify a suspect.
The FBI said the suspect in the security camera was a man approximately 175 cm tall and of medium build.
Authorities expressed concern for Nancy Guthrie’s health because she needed vital daily medications.
He is said to have a pacemaker and deals with high blood pressure and heart problems.
