As the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a news conference Thursday afternoon that there are no suspects or persons of interest in the case.

In response to a question about online rumors that a Guthrie family member is a suspect, Nanos said authorities are investigating anyone who may have had contact with the missing woman, who vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona, early Sunday morning.

“We’re actively looking at everyone we encounter in this situation. We’d be irresponsible if we didn’t talk to everyone – the Uber driver, the gardener, the pool attendant, whoever. Everyone – it’s such a cliché – but everyone is still suspicious in our eyes. That’s how we look at things and think as cops,” Nanos said.

“And the family has been very cooperative. They’ve done everything we’ve asked of them. And we want that relationship to continue,” Nanos added.
