National Education Policy objective is to build a knowledge-based society, says expert

The ICSSR National Member and the distinguished professor at the Social Development Council, New Delhi, Jandhyala BG Tilak, the main purpose of the national education policy (NP) is to provide quality education to all parts of the society and to create a knowledge -based society.
On Tuesday, as part of the eight -day online refreshing program organized by Malawiya Mission Teachers Training Center on Tuesday, to present a special lesson on the “Origins of National Education Policy”, Prof.Dr. Tilak, NP’s goal is to give high education, to increase student records and to lead student -based learning, he said.
Prof. Tilak also emphasized the need for democratization and decentralization of the education system.
From 1944 to 2020, he was detailed on the evolution of educational policies. Tilak said that the National Information Commission played an important role in reform of higher education.
“The 1986 policy emphasized industry -based education, while the right to education was applied in 2009 and accepted education as a fundamental right for everyone,” he said.
Although the field of education has made significant progress and closely linked to social and economic development, many students have left education at primary, undergraduate and higher education levels.
Prof. Tilak said that he did not emphasize technical and professional courses and that regional inequalities in accessing education continue. In addition, school education faces various difficulties that require urgent solutions.
Emphasizing that the decreasing quality in education is a serious concern issue. Tilak pointed out the need for integration and comprehensive in higher education. Faculties and researchers, including BH Nagoor, Bharati Ganiger, Shilpa Ramanagol and others, attended the session.
