Prince William and Kate’s secret gift for Lilibet amid ongoing feud | Royal | News

A new royal book has revealed that Prince William and Princess Catherine sent a sweet gift to their niece, Princess Lilibet, following her birth in 2021. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter a year after leaving the royal family and moving to start a new life in California.

It is unknown whether Catherine and William met their nephew; The couple spent little time with Harry and Meghan’s six-year-old son, Prince Archie. according to Daily MirrorRoyal editor Russell Myers’ upcoming book William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside StorySet to air later this month, Catherine and William acknowledged Lilibet’s birth by sending a card and gift to Meghan and Harry in America, despite the ongoing royal row.

Extending an olive branch to Meghan and Harry, Mr Myers wrote: “William and Catherine sent a gift and a greeting card – but that would be the extent of their contact.”

Catherine had previously been asked about Lilibet during an engagement just days after her birth.

In a TikTok published by CBS News in June 2021, Catherine was asked if she had met Lilibet and if she had any wishes for her.

He said: “I wish him all the best. I can’t wait to meet him because we haven’t met him yet, hopefully it will be soon.”

He was later asked if he had met Lilibet via video call, to which he replied: “No, I haven’t. No.”

In June 2024, Meghan and Harry celebrated Lilibet’s third birthday with a party at their home in Montectio.

While guests such as Katy Perry and her daughter Daisy have reportedly attended, no members of the Royal Family are thought to have been invited.

Speaking to the Mirror at the time, royal writer Tom Quinn said: “Shockingly, members of the Royal Family were not given any invitations to Lilibet’s party.”
