Natural Farming Key To Farmers’ Future: BJP Kisan Morcha

Vijayawada: Natural and organic farming is crucial for farmers’ livelihood, soil health and food security, Andhra Pradesh BJP Kisan Morcha state president Chigurupati Kumara Swamy said on Wednesday.

Addressing the media at the BJP state office here, he said over the years, over-reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides has increased cultivation costs, deteriorated soil fertility and contributed to health problems. To solve this problem, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is promoting natural farming as a nationwide movement.

Mr. Kumara Swamy said the Center promotes chemical-free agriculture through programs such as Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana, Bharatiya Prakritik Krishi Paddhati and National Sustainable Agriculture Mission, which offer training, certification, market linkages and better prices for organic produce.

He said that the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has extended technical support, field level training and marketing assistance through Farmer Producer Organizations and digital platforms like e-NAM.

As part of the initiative, the BJP Kisan Morcha will organize a Natural Farmers Conclave in Vijayawada on January 3 to discuss all aspects of natural farming, from soil health to marketing. He also added that awareness programs will be organized across the districts to mentor young people and women farmers.
