Tyson Fury v Mariusz Wach: Briton takes aim at modern-day sports stars

Friday’s contest will not be broadcast live and will instead be shown as part of the third series of Netflix documentary ‘At Home with the Furys’.

The proposed Fury-Joshua fight has been more than a decade in the making and contracts have been signed for a contest expected to take place later this year, but the venue has yet to be confirmed.

Wach has lost seven of his last 10 fights and is considered a serious underdog on paper, but Fury insisted the veteran will present a tougher test than Joshua’s opponent Albanian Prenga.

“Let me tell you, Mariusz Wach will punch Joshua’s opponent, no matter who he is,” Fury said.

“This guy knocks it out and sparks it. He’s a real fighter. We don’t deal with other people. This is my show.

“I’m not interested in what’s going on elsewhere with Joshua. [Deontay] Wilder or [Oleksandr] Usyk or anyone else. This is about me and Mariusz, not anyone else.

“I don’t care what happens after Friday. What will happen?”
