Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Friday (October 31, 2025) claimed that the ruling NDA released its manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections in a press conference that lasted “just 26 seconds” as they were afraid of facing questions from journalists.

Addressing a press conference in Patna, Mr. Gehlot called the NDA’s manifesto a “series of lies”.
He also wondered why Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary spoke about the manifesto and not CM Nitish Kumar.
“Was he (Kumar) not in a position to talk about it?” the Congress leader asked.
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh, who was also present at Mr. Gehlot’s press conference, alleged that not allowing Nitish Kumar to speak about the manifesto was disrespectful to Bihar and Biharis.
“NDA leaders’ press conference lasted just 26 seconds. They were afraid of questions reporters might have asked about their own administration,” Mr. Gehlot said.
He said that they should start the press conference with the report card of their 20-year rule.
