Neal begins as Deterra interim boss

Jason Neal has joined Deterra Royalties as interim managing director and chief executive officer following the departure of Julian Andrews.
In a statement to the ASX on 23 October, Deterra announced that Mr Andrews would resign for personal reasons by the end of the year and that Mr Neal would begin his role on an interim basis the day after his departure.
In the announcement, Mr Andrews did not give much detail as to why he chose to leave, but the chief executive said it was a ‘difficult decision’ in his speech at the company’s last AGM.
“It has been a privilege to lead the team through this period (Deterra, listed on the ASX, 23 October 2020) and although it was a difficult decision to make, I am happy to leave the company in good shape and safe hands.”
Mr. Neal has been on Deterra’s board of directors since 2022 and remains the lead independent director of G Mining Ventures, founded by Louis Gignac Sr.
Prior to joining the board, he was also vice president of Kirkland Lake Gold, which merged with Agnico Eagle in 2022.
Deterra shares were relatively flat on Monday, closing trading at $4.04.
