Nearly half of Aussie internet users smashed by scammers last year
According to a new report, about half of Australian internet users were sacrificed to cyber crimes last year and admitted that only one quarter of the participants had updated their passwords regularly.
Cyber Crimes in Australia: The 2024 report published by the Australian Institute of Criminology found that 47 percent of the participants had a cyber crime in the last 12 months.
Online abuse and harassment was the most common type of cyber crime sitting at a rate of 26.8 percent.
