New Collectors for Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, and Karur districts

Tamil Nadu government appointed new Collectors for Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram and Karur districts on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. S. Malathi Helen was elected Collector of Chengalpattu, while D. Sneha and G. Ravikumar were appointed as Collectors of Kancheepuram and Karur districts respectively.

R. Jaya has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Special Initiatives, in view of the retirement of incumbent K. Gopal on February 28. Kalaiselvi Mohan has been appointed as Director, Department of Economics and Statistics. On his return from central representation, Chandra Sekhar Sakhamuri was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.

The government also appointed A. Shanmuga Sundaram as Secretary of the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission; N. Ponmani has been appointed as Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Department, Erode.
