There have been many tears shed in the Beckham family over the past three weeks.

Both David and Victoria were left reeling after their eldest son Brooklyn’s brutal Instagram revelation, in which he made a raft of horrific accusations against them.

These accusations were mostly directed at her mother, including claims that Victoria missed her and husband Nicola Peltz’s first dance at their April 2022 wedding and danced “inappropriately” on top of her.

‘In front of our 500 wedding guests,’ he explained, ‘Marc Anthony called me to the stage; ‘I was scheduled to have a romantic dance with my wife on the programme, but my mother was waiting to dance with me instead.’

The 26-year-old actor then concluded his remarks with a final blow: ‘I have never felt so uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.’

In a world where everything posted on social media is good news, Brooklyn’s words caused a global outcry for Victoria.

While there is indeed public support for Posh, 51, whose 2001 single Not Such An Innocent Girl went to number one on the charts as a gesture of solidarity with the public, she is struggling with this decline.

Friends told me Victoria felt ‘completely vilified’ by Brooklyn’s online tirade.

But yesterday, when Latin singer Marc Anthony, a close friend of the Beckhams and, of course, the performer of Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding, finally broke his silence about what happened that evening, four little words were enough to put a smile on Victoria’s face again.

Hours after Brooklyn and Nicola enjoyed their first dance to a cover of Elvis’s Can’t Help Falling In Love sung by South African artist Lloysio, Victoria and Brooklyn enjoyed a brief boogie during a performance of the salsa-inspired hit I Need to Know around 11pm on the wedding evening.

Anthony, godfather to David and Victoria’s youngest children, Cruz and Harper, said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter: ‘I have nothing to say about what’s going on in the family. They are a wonderful, wonderful family.

‘I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m Cruz’s godfather. I’m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there.

‘The course of events is extremely unfortunate, but [how it’s playing out] It’s not quite real.’

According to fashion designer Posh, this “truth isn’t quite true” statement means the world.

As a friend of mine said to me: ‘Finally there’s someone calling out what Brooklyn is saying.

‘[Brooklyn’s] The message offended his mother. Even though he was determined that this was not true, there was such a pile out there. But someone truly trustworthy came forward and told the truth.

Two years ago, Marc Anthony was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was accompanied by his godson, Cruz Beckham.

‘While there is no way Marc would want to cause any more pain for anyone involved, those four words will mean the world to Victoria.

‘Marc is a long-time friend of David and Victoria and admires Brooklyn. He was very touched to be a part of the wedding. It would be sad for him to be involved in all this.

‘There will certainly be a sense of relief when Brooklyn’s lies about Victoria are revealed.’

I’m told Anthony doesn’t plan to talk about the incident at Brooklyn’s wedding or what happened afterward in the interview.

Although the singer hasn’t detailed her version of events, Brooklyn’s claim that her account “isn’t quite true” certainly lines up with other wedding guests’ stories.

Hey, we bet there was no inappropriate dancing, and not only were Victoria and Brooklyn alone on the dance floor, but David, Harper, Romeo, ex-girlfriend Mia Regan, Cruz, and actress Eva Longoria were also there.

Victoria describes the dance as a ‘wholesome family moment’ and refuses to apologize for touching her son.

My friends tell me that the family was never shy about affection, and that David still kisses his sons when they come home to see him.

‘Brooklyn always loved to cuddle with her family,’ a friend said. ‘That’s just the way they are, and Victoria doesn’t apologize for shaking her hips and sticking a little tit on her son’s neck.’

Victoria and David were completely disturbed by Brooklyn’s alleged interpretation of a sensitive family moment as something completely different. Indeed, life hasn’t been the same for the family since Brooklyn’s Instagram post.

Of course, this comes after months of estrangement between the Beckhams and their son that began last spring.

Brooklyn and Nicola refused to attend the former England captain’s 50th birthday celebrations in May, despite flying to London from their home in Los Angeles.

There has been no communication between the two parties since then, and David and Victoria have been forced to stand by as Brooklyn continues to disassociate herself from them on Instagram and in the media.

Just days after the Instagram post, Brooklyn and Nicola were spotted by paparazzi walking along the Malibu beach in photos that had all the hallmarks of a ‘ready’ photo opportunity. At the time, some insiders suspected this was Brooklyn’s way of ‘rubbing her parents in their faces.’

Just a few weeks later, more paparazzi photos emerged revealing that she had a tattoo dedicated to her father inked in Brooklyn.

David and Victoria have yet to speak publicly about the effects of this situation, but they desperately hope that Brooklyn will one day change her mind and re-engage with them.

A friend of the Beckhams told me: ‘I’ve known them all for many years. I never thought this would happen. They were very close.

‘But now it feels like things are getting worse. It’s heartbreaking to think that going back is probably not possible anymore.’

I know Victoria and David will be praying their friends are wrong.
