A new map has been designed to emphasize which stations have significant features for the London tube. Re -invented the iconic map to show the basic features that help everyone to walk around.
Snowball Designed map To show TFL users which London underground stations have no step -up, they help disabled passengers plan and navigate their journeys around London. DLR, Trem and Elizabeth line have 93 -digit tube stations, more than 60 step -free underground stations and full -step access. However, for 13.2% of the London who define them as disabled people, travel planning can still be complex. Simon Sansome, a wheelchair user, has created a snowball to integrate accessibility for more accessible and disabled people. He said: “The London Tube map helped millions of people find their ways in the capital, and now he is doing the same for the disabled community.”
“We have designed to instantly see which stations are fully accessible, which may require help and planned how to plan with confidence from start to finish.”
The map has a net, easy -to -read symbol system that uses a color sorting system to show how accessible to each station is actually for users.
While the stations marked as green offer full -step access from the street to the train, orange stations show that some assistance may be required from the personnel.
In addition, airport access points show changes with London’s bus network and IFS cloud cable cars. All station opening times are displayed and allow users to plan their journeys with maximum flexibility.
The Snowball application, which can be downloaded from Apple and Google Play stores, also includes a traffic light -style accessibility system that ratings each station according to real world experience.
These ratings were created by Snowball founder Simon Sansome and his team, who visited and evaluated each station to ensure the accuracy of the sorting system.
