Zack Polanski celebrates Gorton and Denton win: ‘A message of hope’ | News

Zack Polanski said the Green Party’s victory in the Gorton and Denton byelection sent a “message of hope” to the country, following Hannah Spencer’s victory in Labour’s formerly safe seat.

Labour’s defeat in the previously rock-solid Greater Manchester constituency, which finished third behind the Greens and Nigel Farage’s Reform England, has put pressure on Sir Keir Starmer’s party.

Mr Polanski said the results showed there were no longer “no-go areas” for the party in England and Wales and he promised his party would “do it all over again” in May’s local elections.
