– ‘grunter in ranks’ –
Since 2012, the militants of financial, al -Qaeda or Islamic state groups have embraced crises on various fronts that carried out violent attacks on the Sahel nation.
Criminal and sectarian violence is also in terrible troubles.
After the coups, Junta, Niger and Burkina returned to France, arguing that the country should be saved from the former colonial ruler, like its allies in Faso.
Paramiliter Wagner Group and his successor African Corps, the mercenaries of the Mercenary War Jihadists and other internal enemies with new allies, especially with Russia.
Nevertheless, as Niger and Burkina Faso continues to struggle to include financial jihadist threats, the normal army and Russian allies are often accused of persecuting civilians.
For Mali Sociologist Oumar Maiga, this last liquidation “proof that civil servants are struggling to control the situation. There are grunts in the ranks of the army”.
“Some soldiers are not satisfied with the treatment given to Russian mercenaries at the expense of Mali soldiers.”
