Newly-elected MLA from Ludhiana West Sanjeev Arora administered oath by Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker

Sanjeev Arara, the newly elected Mla from the seat of the Ludhiana Western Assembly, swore by Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Mr. ARORA (61) Congress Candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu’yu Ludhiana Western Assembly bypoll was defeated by 10,637 votes.

Mr. Arara received 35,179 votes, while Mr. Ashu received 24,542 votes. Jiwan Gupta from BJP received 20,323 votes and shiromani Akali branch candidate Parupkar Singh Ghuman received 8,203 votes.

Bypoll, held on June 19, was needed in January with the death of AAP Mla Gurpreet Bassi Gigi. The result was announced on June 23rd.

Mr. Arara was swore by Kultar Singhwan, President of the Punjab Assembly on Saturday.

On this occasion, AAP’s Punjab Responsible Manish Sisodia, AAP State Unit President Aman ARORA, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Mla Budh Ram.
