Another Josh Allen-Joe Burrow duel took place in snowy Buffalo on Sunday, resulting in an absolute thriller that went in the Bills’ favor.

Trailing 28-18 with about eight minutes left in the game, the Bills scored 21 consecutive points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Bengals 39-34 at their home Highmark Stadium.

Of course, it was a sold-out crowd despite long snowfalls that turned the green grass white and slippery throughout this competition. But nothing new for Buffalo.

Bills fans were unhappy with the start of the game, as Burrow immediately got involved with a 14-play, 67-yard drive that consumed 8 minutes and 16 seconds of the first quarter, quickly taking a 7-0 lead with a Chase Brown field goal.

After Buffalo responded with a field goal kick, Burrow needed just six plays to go 55 yards and find Tee Higgins for the first of his two touchdowns. Both were great catches and throws, this time to the right side of the end zone for a 14-3 lead.

But Allen was able to work his own magic in front of his loyal fans by scrambling on fourth-and-4 from Cincinnati’s 11-yard line, eventually finding Khalil Shakir in the end zone for an 11-yard strike.

But the first half belonged to the Bengals, and Burrow threw his second touchdown pass, this time to Brown, for a field goal through the air.

In the second half, Allen welcomed back one of his favorite targets as Dalton Kincaid, fresh off injury, found the end zone for the start of the third quarter. And it looked like the Bills would take the lead at the end of the quarter when James Cook was on the doorstep with a run attempt, but he got into the end zone and the Bengals recovered.

So, with Burrow leading with a seven-minute lead as the fourth quarter began, tight end Mike Gesicki broke free from coverage and hit a 12-yard field goal to make it 28-18.

But the Bills’ drive came after Allen scrambled for a 40-yard touchdown run to make the score 28-25. As the Bengals drove, Burrow tried to throw a short pass to Ja’Marr Chase, but Christian Benford read it all the way.

Benford leaped into the air, made the interception and ran all the way back for a 63-yard pick-six, giving Buffalo a 32-28 lead.

But the defensive fireworks weren’t over, as AJ Epenesa intercepted Burrow to turn the field over again from scrimmage on the next play. Five plays later, Allen caught Jackson Hawes’ three-yard touchdown pass and the home fans went wild.

The Bengals didn’t let up, with Higgins scoring a one-handed touchdown on his sixth catch, which gave him 92 yards on the day. Buffalo left the field with a score of 9-4 after the Bengals failed to get the ball back after two scoring chances failed. The Bengals fell to 4-9.
