NFL news: Tua Tagovailoa apologizes for calling out Dolphins teammates

Tua Tagovailoa apologized Wednesday for calling out his teammates following the Miami Dolphins’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Tagovailoa initially said he was “shocked” by the recent losses and was asked how he would avoid a “wow” attitude in the next few games. He suggested that other members of the team should start doing their part and doing the little things.

“I think it starts with leadership helping to articulate that to the guys and then showing them what we expect from the guys,” he said. “We expect this. Do we receive this? Do we not understand this?

“We have guys showing up late to player-only meetings. They’re not showing up to player-only meetings. There’s a lot that goes into this. Do we have to mandate this? Don’t we have to mandate this? So we have to clean up a lot of that stuff. It starts with little things like that.”

But Tagovailoa on Wednesday he told reporters He said he “made a mistake” by not “protecting his team”.

“I made a mistake and I accept it now. I talked about it with the guys in the team and the leaders,” Tagoavailoa said. he said. “They know in my heart, they know the intention is right. Tagovailoa was 21-of-32 for 205 passing yards and one go-ahead pass. Darren Waller and three interceptions against the Chargers. Their only victory came against the winless New York Jets.
