Berkeley Police Continue Their Search For Missing Bengaluru Student, Family Apprehensive

BENGALUR: The family of Indian student Saketh Sreenivasaiah, who has been missing since the morning of February 12 in Berkeley, California, United States, is keeping their fingers crossed for the safety of their son in Bengaluru.

While Saketh Sreenivasaiah’s family resides in Srigandada Kaval of Bengaluru city, Saketh went to the University of California, Berkeley to start his Master’s degree in September 2025.

Following the concerns of missing Saketh’s family, the concerned authorities met with Sreenivasaiah and his brother Sudhamshu on Saturday and shared with them that the Berkeley Police Department had found his laptop along with his bag and passport near the Lake Anza Area.

However, the police continue to search for the missing Saketh. The search for the missing Saketh is ongoing by the Berkeley Police Department, but so far his whereabouts are unknown.

Missing Saketh’s father Sreenivasaiah spoke to Deccan Chronicle on Saturday and shared that his son never informed them about any “disorder/problem” he faced in California and Sreenavasaiah said, “He spoke to his family members regularly but there is nothing suspicious about the circumstances that led to his disappearance.”

Sreenivasaiah said he contacted his friends in California to get updates on his missing son, but learned that search efforts were on to trace his son.

Meanwhile, Sreenivasaiah has sent a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asking him to intervene in tracing his son by coordinating with the authorities concerned.

In a letter to the Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh requested to provide all necessary assistance, including coordination with local law enforcement agencies and facilitating support to the family through the Consulate General of India.
