Karur MP flags ‘non-cooperation’ by TNCC in naming booth-level agents

Karur Congress Party MP S. Jothimani on Friday flagged up an issue on social media regarding non-cooperation of party functionaries in the appointment of Cabinet Level Representatives (BLA) recommended by him in Karur district.
In his post on his social media account, the MP claimed that “no political party would consider preventing their MPs from submitting the list of ballot box officers to the Election Commission during the election period” and that such incidents routinely occur in Congress.
“Tamil Nadu Congress is in the news every day for all the wrong reasons that have nothing to do with people’s problems. Tamil Nadu is facing an unprecedented danger from communalist, separatist and violent forces. In this context, all political parties bear the responsibility of handling the upcoming elections with utmost care. But there is no avoiding the question of whether the Congress has truly grasped the magnitude of this responsibility.”
Ms. Jothimani said: “The ongoing uncontrolled infighting in the Tamil Nadu Congress is causing disappointment. Without resolutely advancing principled politics, talking about people’s problems and engaging only in petty factional squabbles, the Tamil Nadu Congress is slowly heading towards the path of destruction for the selfish gains of a few.”
TNCC chief was shocked
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperunthagai said he was shocked to learn that despite speaking to the AICC in-charge of him and Tamil Nadu Girish Chodankar had posted about the issue on social media.
“I have been working all day long. We appointed village committees, ran Vote Chori campaigns. I was shocked and still don’t know why he released such generalized allegations in public. He could have conveyed the same to me or Girish Chodankar ji. I will talk to him,” he said.
