Badenoch says BBC would be ‘rewarding extremism’ with Kneecap Glastonbury coverage

Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch clearly stated that the BBC should not “show” the performance of the Irish rap group Kneecap at the Glastonbury Festival next week.

During a concert in November last year, the intervention followed the emergence of the last court of Kneecap member Liam Og O Hanaidh, who allegedly exhibited a flag supporting the banned terrorist organization Hezbollah and supporting “Up Hamas, Up Hezbollah”.

Ms. Badenoch said in the X Post, accompanied by an article of Times, who claims that the BBC did not ban the group, said: “BBC should not show kneeling.

“A knee group member is currently accused of the law of terrorism.

“As a public platform, the BBC should not reward extremism.”

The Opposition’s Tory leader previously asked the group to be banned from Glastonbury, and last year Kneecap tried to reject an £ 14,250 financing prize when he was a minister, and he won a cases of discrimination against the Belfast High Court.

Kneecap targeted Mrs. Badenoch at The Recap, The Recap, which was released just before the London’s wide vigilant festival in London, and mocked the song politician’s art financing and attempts to prevent the conservative party’s loss of election.

On Wednesday, O Hanaidh, who took the stage under the stage called Mo Chara, came with his group friends Naoise O Caireallain and Jj o Doomartaigh at the Westminster Criminal Court of Westminster.

During the proceedings, the Court heard that the 27 -year -old child was “within his rights ve in order to express his views on Israel and Palestine, but the event alleged to be in the O2 forum in the town of Kentish in North London is something completely different”.

That Hanaidh was released on August 20th with unconditional bail until his next hearing in the same court.

After the hearing, the rapper said: “You can see us at 16:00 on Saturday for everyone who goes to Glastonbury.

“If you can’t be there, we’ll be in the BBC, if someone who watches the BBC. We will be at Wembley in September.

“But most importantly: Free, free Palestine.”

The accusation came after a counter -terrorism police investigation after the emergence of historical concert images, which calls the deaths of the deputies of the group.

In April, Kneecap apologized to the families of the deputies killed last month, but the images of the incident were “exploited and armed”.

In a first article in response to the accusation, Kneecap said: “14,000 babies are starving in Gaza, food sitting by the Earth on the other side of the wall and once again the British organization focuses us.

“This ‘crime’ we deny and we will strongly defend ourselves, this political policing, this is a distraction of attention.

“We are not a story, because they make a profit from the genocide, they use a ‘Anti -Terror Law’ to exhibit a flag thrown on the stage.

“Restricting our ability to travel. To prevent us from talking to young people around the world. Silence of compassion. To prosecute artists who dare to speak.

“Instead of defending innocent people, or instead of the international law principles they claim to support, they have eroded massacres and famine in Gaza, just like in Ireland for centuries.

“The spy plane missions they watch and fly are real terrorists, the whole world can see it.”

Founded in 2017, the group is known for its provocative lyrics in both Ireland and English and products.

Among the best known tracks are Get Your Brits, Better Way to Live, Fontaines DC and Grian Chatten and 3Cag.

A BBC spokesman said: “As a broadcast partner, BBC will bring audiences comprehensive music from Glastonbury with artists reserved by festival organizers.

“Although BBC does not ban artists, our plans will enable our programming that our programming will meet our editorial instructions. Decisions about our output will be taken to the festival.”
