a new “TMZ Investigates” special on Fox Nation Claiming that Nick Reiner is not in a mental state to stand trial for allegedly killing his parents Rob and Michele Reiner, the program reveals new details about Nick Reiner’s mental state, the drugs he used and the case filed against him.
“He’s not competent to stand trial right now. We’re told he’s almost childish in prison,” TMZ executive producer Harvey Levin told “Fox & Friends” on Monday.
“He can’t handle the consequences of what he did. He knows what he did. He can’t understand where he is right now, and I know that sounds crazy, but he’s out of his mind right now.”

Doctors changed Nick’s medications a month before the murders because he complained of weight gain, and this adjustment “turned Nick upside down,” said Levin, explaining that Nick was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, which can cause delusions, hallucinations and mood disorders.

Levin called the alleged murders “incredibly brutal.”

He added that the murders had “all the hallmarks of a meth murder” and that Nick was arrested at a drug store, claiming he was using meth when he “went off the rails” after a drug switch.
“The savage bears the marks of someone extremely powerful. We haven’t had confirmation of that, but we’ve talked to people… If it was just Nick Reiner, if there was nothing additional, the massacre would not have happened the way it did,” Levin said.

Considering the case against Nick, Levin also touched on why high-profile attorney Alan Jackson, who previously represented Nick before withdrawing from the case, pleaded not guilty.
“[Jackson] says [Nick] not guilty. What he actually says is that he is not guilty by reason of insanity. “And I think that’s going to be the defense in this case, because there’s no way he can plead not guilty.”
